About

Mechanical engineering meets building science.

ProMould was founded to bring genuine engineering rigour to a field too often defined by surface-level inspection. We investigate complex moisture and humidity problems where standard mould assessment falls short.

Our background is in mechanical engineering, HVAC design and building performance. That foundation lets us read a building the way a clinician reads a patient — looking past symptoms to the system behind them.

We work most often where the stakes are highest: hospitals, aged care, commercial buildings and industrial facilities. These are buildings where mould growth is rarely accidental — it's almost always the symptom of an unresolved mechanical, envelope or operational issue.

Our role is to diagnose. We use calibrated instrumentation, psychrometric analysis and building-system reasoning to identify the root cause, then provide independent recommendations. Because we do not perform remediation works, our advice is never shaped by what we'd profit from selling.

Our foundation is mechanical engineering — HVAC systems, building science and moisture dynamics. These are the disciplines the industry guides identify as most relevant to understanding why moisture problems occur in buildings. We don't claim expertise beyond that scope, and when a problem requires a mycologist, a microbiologist or a clinical specialist, we say so.

Independent

We don't sell remediation. Our advice is yours, not a sales tool.

Technical

Engineering-grade methodology, calibrated equipment, structured written reports.

Specialised

Focused on complex buildings, HVAC and healthcare environments.
